It is with great pride and respect that we share the success of the HKITA Championship 2026, held on 12th April — one day after the 71st Anniversary of the Birthday of Taekwon-Do. This event also marked the first anniversary of HKITA’s official establishment, a milestone for our young, passionate organisation.
We are delighted to report that the championship attracted 74 dedicated ITF Taekwon-Do competitors, who together created an atmosphere of high technical quality and genuine martial art spirit. The event was further elevated by a well-trained umpire team and top-quality coaches and competitors, ensuring fairness, safety, and excellence in every match.
A special moment came from our Technical Director, Master Anthony Ng, who reminded all present that “Taekwon-Do is a martial art that promotes peace and unity. That is why our founder left us the pattern Tong-Il as the final expression of our art. Working together with our alliance is an act of unity.” His words resonated deeply, especially as the championship was supported by the fellow ITF, demonstrating the very unity our founder envisioned.
In a major step forward for ITF competition in Hong Kong, the HKITA Championship 2026 became the first tournament in Hong Kong to utilise an AI electronic system — Match Master — for athlete application, drawing, match management, and real-time result sharing. This innovation improved transparency, efficiency, and the overall experience for participants and spectators alike.
We sincerely believe this championship is a good beginning for many more successful events to come. HKITA remains committed to upholding the traditions of ITF Taekwon-Do while embracing innovation and unity across the global Taekwon-Do family.
Thank you for your continued guidance and support.
In the spirit of Tong-Il,
Master Anthony Ng
