With profound sadness and a heavy heart, we received information from Malaysian Taekwon-Do Federation, that Master Sivalingam passed away on August 7th, 2021.
Master Sivalingam has been battling motor neuron disease for the past 2 years. His demise, however, was not directly related to the disease.
Master Sivalingam was a three-time team pattern ITF World Champion back in the 1990s during the World Championships in 1990 in Montreal, Canada, 1992 in Pyongyang, North Korea and in 1994 in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia.
He dedicated his life to Taekwon-Do and has many friends around the world.
He was also a qualified sports psychologist who have helped many athletes throughout his tenure with the National Sports Institute.
We value Master Sivalingam’s contributions to the development of ITF Taekwon-Do in Malaysia, and we will forever treasure his memories.
On behalf of the ITF Board of Directors we would like to express our deepest condolences to Master Sivalingam’s family, friends, students and to all members over the loss of a man who was a significant member of our Taekwon-Do Family.
