The 28th ITF Congress, held for the first time as a video conference, is history since the day before yesterday.
We would certainly all have wished for a congress under normal circumstances, but unfortunately this could not be verified.
I would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank you for your understanding and willingness to participate in this congress, which for some of you took place at night and for others very early in the morning because of the continental time differences.
A total of 163 participants from 69 countries gave the event a worthy setting, including former Presidents Master Russell McLellan (Canada) and GM Pablo Trajtenberg (Argentina).
Thanks to the well-functioning technology, the 3.5-hour congress could be held within the planned time frame and was held to our complete satisfaction.
I would like to thank all those involved who made sure that this congress went so smoothly especially the office staff, the Legal Counsel and the Executive Committee.
Thanks also to all delegates, Grandmasters, Committee Chairs, Masters and Instructors.
It was a great pleasure for me to see our TKD family in its entirety again and I hope to see you again next year personally.
Sincerely yours
GM Paul Weiler
ITF President
Master Scott Downey
Thank you GM Weiler for the opportunity to be present for this unique Congress during this unprecedented time in the world and in our ITF history. It was a 3:30am start here in Newfoundland, Canada. Proud to represent Canada for this historic event. Stay safe.
