IIC 162 was held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th December 2022 hosted by Martial Arts Elements, a local non-profit association led by Jean-Francois Filion and Margaret Vadnais. The event was conducted by Technical & Instruction Committee members GM Hector Marano, GM Ung Kim Lan and GM Pierre Laquerre with 4 special guests: ITF President GM Paul Weiler, the honorable Russell MacLellan (past ITF President), GM Clint Norman and Master Janel Gauthier Chairman of the Do & Ethics committee. Master Joliette Trân was also part of the instructors teaching in tandem, a part of the IDC.
The event drew 173 ITF TKD practitioners from across Canada, Argentina, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Haiti and USA. 2 Grand Masters attended this IIC: GM Downey (Canada) and GM Suarez (USA).
During 3 days we enjoyed learning the 24 patterns, steps sparring, grabbing techniques and protocol
Gm Weiler gave special class of stabilization excersices and GM Norman was in charge of free sparring class
Beside that was one session with a high ranking and another one only with Master and Grand Masters conducted by GM Marano
Was very emotional to have GM Tran Trieu Quan family and have a chance to present a tribute to his memory as the first ITF president elected in democraty way
The organization was excellent and everybody enjoyed Hotel, venue and banquet in a very good atmosphere
