Ahead of the start of the ITF World Cup 2026, a formal briefing was held to clarify the working relationship between Press representatives and the Tournament and Umpire Committee.
The Press plays an essential role in bringing the World Cup to the global ITF community and beyond. Through photography, video and reporting, our media representatives capture the athletes, the competition and the many moments that make this event special. The aim of the briefing was therefore to create the best possible conditions for everyone to work together effectively.
With more than 2,600 competitors, 11 competition rings and a large team of officials, coaches, athletes and volunteers working throughout the venue, good communication and mutual respect are essential. The Press team was introduced to the tournament structure and the designated contact points, helping ensure that questions, special requests and access requirements can be handled quickly and consistently.
Designated Press areas and movement zones have been established throughout the venue. These arrangements are designed to give photographers and media representatives good opportunities to capture the action while keeping pathways clear and ensuring that athletes and officials but also photographers can operate safely and efficiently. Where specific photo opportunities require access to other areas, individual requests can be discussed with the responsible officials whenever circumstances allow.
The message throughout the briefing was simple: we are all part of one team working towards the same goal – a successful and memorable ITF World Cup.
By communicating clearly, respecting each other’s roles and supporting one another, the Press and tournament teams can ensure that the action in Benidorm reaches the ITF community around the world while the competition itself runs smoothly and professionally.
