I can share with you a lot of stories, but the main one was his visit in my town, to teach to my students during a summer camp in 1988.
General Choi came to visit us during a week-end. July 29, 30 and 31, 1988.
It was fantastic to assist him during the class but a lot of stress to take care of him during his visit, driving to the restaurant and the Hotel.
During this week-end all my students and I learned a lot.
During the evening, I drive General Choi to the hotel, GM Trân, my teacher told me, you have a room close of General Choi, be sure He have everything. “Yes Sir”.
Around 9pm I earn some knock on the wall, quickly I move in front of General Choi room, knocking on his door and ask, Sir, what can I do for you? He told me, Pierre the television doesn’t work, I said: let me check what’s happen Sir, it’s only the remote control battery Sir.
Quickly, I come back to my room and switch mine in his remote control. Everything right, I go back to my room.
About 6am I earn some knock on the wall again, right away stand up, put my pants and go to knocking on his door, Sir what can I do for you ? oh Pierre. It’s my training…. Oups ! I said sorry Sir.
General Choi was never tired to teach to us, and during this week-end he gave us a lot of time, in teaching during summer camp, share experience during the meal, keep me in ready position during the night.
This philosophy is right for him: “Be the eternal teacher, who teaches with the body when young, with words when old, and by moral precept even after death”.
