IUC November 2019 in Germany
From 23rd to 25th of November 29, 2018 – 140 black belts, instructors, coaches and Umpires from 30 nations attended the ITF International Umpire Course in Miesbach south of Germany. Following regularly such a course is mandatory to become qualified for umpiring at international championships.
The course was conducted by Master Alberto Katz, Chairman of the ITF Umpire Committee and Master Kurt Ottesen Member of the ITF Umpire Committee. The very professional presentations were supported by practicing parts. All course contents have been addressed. Under the leadership of the two Masters, the course participants were instructed at international standard in the actual rules and regulations of all competition and tournament disciplines. In small groups the attendees could directly practice what they have been taught in theory. In depth video analysis was performed for center referring, patterns and pre-arranged sparring which allowed the participants to see what has been performed in the last International events. The attendees could analyze variations and deviations in techniques and procedures in great detail. For this reason the sports hall was fully equipped with three competition areas with four electronic scoring systems as usual for international competitions.
Master van den Heuvel Chairman of the ITF Tournament Committee together with its Committee members, Master Giovanni Cecconato and Master Harry Vones supported the course from technical and tournament side. In addition there was the opportunity to give a short introduction about the sportdata system to the interested participants.
The participants found a well prepared sports hall and a comfortable hotel accommodation thanks to the organizers Master Harry Vones, Master Adalbert Wagner and his wife Evi and their assistants. Finally the participants spent consistently positive feedback for the course leadership in combination with the organization and accommodation. This friendly and positive atmosphere shall be transferred to the World Championships 2019 in Inzell – Germany.
