On June 6-8, 2025 ITF America was host for the International Instructor Course #185 held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Resort in Orlando Florida. This event was supported by 127 participants from 9 countries including the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Philippines, China and Norway.

IIC 185 was taught by Technical Committee members GM Hector Marano, GM Ung Kim Lan and GM Pierre Laquerre. Also in attendance were special guests GM Paul Weiler, ITF President and GM Clint Norman, ITF Senior Vice President.
On Friday, GM Weiler welcomed the attendees and officially opened IIC 185. GM Lan got the class warmed-up and GM Marano followed with instruction on Chon-Gi through Yul-Guk. GM Laquerre then led the class through a series of self-defense techniques. GM Marano then completed the afternoon with instruction on Joong-Gun through Choong-Moo.
On Saturday, GM Laquerre opened the session with some high cardio exercises to get everyone warmed up and continued with instruction on 1st Dan patterns. GM Lan followed with instruction on 2nd Dan patterns and GM Laquerre with 3rd Dan patterns and then GM Lan returned to the floor to review step-sparring. The groups were then split and GM Marano took the 5th dan and above through their patterns while GM Laquerre taught some fun sparring drills using focus pads.
Saturday evening was a time of fellowship and a meal with one another at the banquet. Master Kerner presented gifts to 11 Grand Masters including 6 from ITF America.
The seminar wrapped up on Sunday with GM Lan teaching 4th Dan patterns while GM Laquerre reviewed fundamentals with the lower ranks. GM Marano then taught patterns for 5th Dan and above while GM Norman took the others through high energy sparring drills. The seminar came to a close with the presentation of IIC participation certificates and pictures with the Technical Committee.






ITF AMERICA
