After thirteen years and organized by the Brazilian Taekwon-Do Association, between Saturday April 29 and Monday May 1, the IIC number 166 took place in the city of Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil.
Led by the president of the Technique and Instruction Committee, GM Héctor Marano and by GM Ung Kim Lan, attendees from Brazil, Argentina and Colombia were able to enjoy three days of pure exchange of technical knowledge, peppered with stories related to the Creator, General Choi Hong Hi and the beginnings of our art.
Opening
The Secretary of the ABT and member of the Organizing Committee, Master Ricardo Ramírez, offered a few words of welcome to the IIC speakers, as well as a brief description of the trajectory of each one, to end with a special thanks to all the participants, instructors, Masters and schools that were present.
In turn, GM Marano, after a few words of thanks and an explanation of the program to follow, gave way to the initial greeting and the one of honor to the Creator of Taekwon-Do.
1st Module – April 29
To begin with, GM Lan presented a stipulated series of exercises for warming up and preventing injuries to joints and muscles.
Next step, GM Marano began the work with the execution and explanation of Chon Ji, Dan Gun, Do San and Won Hyo.
In this segment, special attention was paid to the basic positions, how to move the body and support the foot in different movements.
For his part, GM Lan was in charge of reviewing the fighting techniques of 3, 2 and 1 steps, from the protocol to the purpose of each one.
He also explained the Mobum Matsogi modality.
2nd Module – April 30
Kwang Gae, Po Eun and Ge Baek trained, going to detail in the execution of each technique and its application.
Then GM Lan started by mentioning the basic principles followed by explanation of different Hosin Sool techniques.
Then it was the turn of the forms of II and III dan, while in another room, the minor categories carried out the review of what they had practiced.
In the afternoon, Master Fabián Izquierdo, a member of the Children Development Committee, led a Taekwon-Do Kids seminar, whose main objective was to share content and experiences related to the way of teaching children, the importance of games as an educational tool, Emotions and their relationship to learning.
The participants enjoyed some activities and games, and attended videos and photographic material to reinforce the concepts.
Also, in the early afternoon, the Sabum Jorge Zalcberg and the Sabum Claudio Pinsdorf were examined, after which they agreed to the VI dan category.
The gala dinner marked the end of the second day.
3rd Module – May 1
At the beginning of the day the participants were divided into groups. In this way, while a group trained in the IV dan forms, the rest reviewed everything they had practiced in the previous days.
Later, GM Lan shared fighting techniques while the senior categories trained the forms of V and VI dan with GM Marano.
Before the closing words by the speakers and the organizers, the certificates of participation and the usual photos were delivered.

Based on the Policy on ITF Outstanding Personality Awards, in accordance with the decision of the ITF Executive Board of 19 April 2023, ITF announced the submissions of the applications for the ITF Outstanding Personality Award contest.
The ITF Outstanding Personality Award can be granted in the following categories:
1. Outstanding Competitor
2. Outstanding Coach/Instructor
3. Outstanding Umpire
4. Outstanding Official
5. Outstanding Pioneer/Master
6. Outstanding Country
7. Outstanding Sponsor
Details with eligibility criteria can be found in the attached policy.
Applications in English langugage must be emailed to the Secretary-General’s office at [email protected] no later than May 30, 2023.
The nominations for the ITF Outstanding Personality Award shall be approved by the ITF Board of Directors at the meeting on June 18, 2023.
The ITF Outstanding Personality Awards are awarded during the Opening Ceremony of the World Championships 2023 in Finland, eventually during the official, specially organized banquet. Details should be specified at later term.
The nominee who can not receive the award by himself (because not present at the World Championships), should designate a person who will receive the award on his/her behalf.

Dear ITF Members!
It is with great dismay and deep regret that we learnt today that Master Patrick O’Rourke (8th Dan) and member of the Irish Taekwon-Do Association has started his final journey.
Our thoughts are with him and his family, to whom we wish much strength to overcome this difficult time.
Master O’Rourke will always be dearly remembered. May he rest in peace.

On March 31st, April 1st and 2nd, the 165th IIC of International Taekwon-Do Federation took place in the coastal city of Ashdod, Israel, given in this opportunity by GM Héctor Marano, GM Ung Kim Lan and Master Jurek Jedut, and organized by Israeli Taekwon-Do ITF Association leaded by Master Leo Oros Duek and Sbn Luis Sajnovetzky.
This is a very special IIC for local organizers since the same celebrates the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Association, and its growth in these 20 years. In this opportunity GM Paul Weiler, ITF president, was present as a special guest.
This IIC had participants from 12 countries. The IIC started on Friday midday, on Saturday the training was divided into morning and afternoon sessions, and finally on Sunday morning. During the IIC there was a presentation of TKD Adapted by the director of ITF Inclusion Committee, Master Leo Oros Duek.
On Friday, some warm-up exercises were given by Master Jurek Jedut and color belt patterns as well. Also, 1, 2 and 3 step sparring exercises were given by GM Lan and the presentation of TKD Adapted took part.
On Saturday morning the training included 1st and 2nd Degree patterns given by GM Lan and 3rd Degree patterns given by Master Jurek Jedut. 5th and 6th Degree pattern training was given by GM Marano. The morning session finished with a general review of all training done until that moment. Also during the morning, Master Alejandro Banega and Master Virginia Dionisi gave some training to II and I gups patterns with the participants of those categories.
Later was the turn of the combat training given by Master Jurek Jedut who gave different exercises that were performed and were useful for combat training.
Sunday morning the IIC began with exercises and theory on stretching and physical conditioning given by GM Weiler. Then the group was divided and GM Jedut did some training for 1st to 3rd degree patterns while GM Lan gave training based on 4th degree patterns. The morning session ended with some training on sparring techniques given by Master Jedut.
To summon up a wonderful weekend full of Taekwon-Do, the local organizers would like to thank ITF Technical Committee and ITF President for their support to Israel TKD ITF in these 20 years of history and for being present in this special IIC.

ITF England held its annual congress on 3rd March 2023 in Watford.
The congress was the first to be held under then new statutes for ITF England which have been developed using guidance from Sport England.
A comprehensive annual report was prepared, which is available on the new ITF England website, www.itfengland.com .
The congress celebrated some of the achievements this year, such as the improved performance of the national team, the great results of English organisations in the world cup, the launch of the new website and the improved financial and organisational health of ITF England.
Income proposals were debated at length, and it was agreed to canvass members on their opinions on how to increase income to support social media, the inclusion of non-executive directors and how to improve diversity.
