On my visit to South Africa I gave a full weekend Technical Seminar to the South African Taekwon-Do Association in Randburg, Johannesburg.
Day 1. Saturday 30th of July
I conducted 3 technical sessions.
Assisting me were my Daughter Christine Franks 2nd degree and James Tuite 2nd degree.
Session 1.
We covered Chon-Ji Tul to Do- San Tul and 3 Step Sparring. Additionally we trained kicking drills and basic sparring drills.
Session 2.
We covered Won- Hyo Tul to Toi- Gye Tul and 2 Step Sparring. Additionally we trained more advanced kicking drills and intermediate sparring drills.
Session 3. (3hrs)
We covered Hwa-Rang Tul to the last 4th degree Tul, and 1 Step Sparring . Additionally we trained Hasin Sool and advanced sparring drills.
Day 2. Sunday 31st of July.
On day 2 I conducted a grading for Edson Masakadza from Zimbabwe who graded from 2nd degree to 3rd degree.
A 3 hour sparring training session was given by Christine Franks (2021 European champion) & James Tuite (Former World Cup Champion & European Champion)
Christine and James were an excellent pair and updated the sparring standard to a more international level.
It was a good day of fighting and sparring techniques!
I would like to thank the President of the South Africa Taekwon-Do Association Mr. Justin Glanville 6 degree for organising the event and the incredible hospitality of his members.
