On April 6, 2025, the International Taekwon-Do Federation held its Extraordinary General Assembly online via Zoom, gathering representatives from around the world for important decisions shaping the future of the organization.
The Assembly was led by ITF President, GM Paul Weiler, and ITF Secretary General, GM Tadeusz Loboda. In attendance were the ITF Board of Directors, 42 member countries with voting rights, as well as several invited guests, including the Chairs of various ITF Committees.
One of the main topics of the Assembly was the approval of several amendments to the ITF Statutes, aimed at further strengthening the governance and operational structures of the organization.
The highlight of the Assembly was the official confirmation of Benidorm, Spain, as the host city for the 2026 ITF World Cup. The popular Mediterranean resort city will welcome Taekwon-Do practitioners from all over the world for one of the most anticipated events on the ITF calendar.
ITF President GM Paul Weiler expressed his gratitude to all participating members and underlined the importance of unity and collaboration within the ITF community. He also congratulated Benidorm on its successful bid, noting the city’s excellent facilities, beautiful location, and experience in hosting international events.
The ITF looks forward to working closely with the local organizers to deliver an unforgettable World Cup in 2026, where competitors, coaches, officials, and supporters will come together to celebrate the values of Taekwon-Do.
