The collective efforts of dedicated individuals culminated on October 19, 2025, with the inaugural Arab-African International Taekwon-Do Seminar. This significant event was organized by the Union Marocaine of Taekwon-Do (ITF), the first federation established to promote ITF Taekwon-Do in Morocco.
The primary objective of the Seminar was to qualify participants and introduce the latest theoretical and practical developments in ITF Taekwon-Do arbitration law. This intensive training was conducted under the expert supervision of Director General GM Abelardo Rafael Benzaquen, Chairman of the International Umpier Committee, who was officially received by the Regional Director of the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Youth Sector.
Held in an atmosphere of great enthusiasm and encouragement, the full-day Seminar saw robust participation:
- 15 referees holding international Level B certification
- 2 referees holding international Level A certification
- 10 nationally ranked referees
The Tunisian National Taekwon-Do Association, led by Mr. Sbm Adel Lajili, also played an active role. Their referees, keen to demonstrate a spirit of friendship, were making their second visit to Morocco since 2014, when they assisted with the federation’s initial formation.
It was a pleasure to honor all participants at this event, which was made possible through the patronage, encouragement, and full support of our administration, the International Taekwon-Do Federation, and the highly respected GM Abelardo Rafael Benzaquen, to whom we extend our sincere thanks and appreciation.
