Dear Grand Masters, Masters, instructors, competitors,The past few months have changed the world.
What we are facing was impossible to predict or plan. The COVID-19 situation has deeply influenced many areas of our lives. Unfortunately sports and sports events are one of them. We have been confronted with one of the hardest decisions, but at the end it is impossible to go against the facts.
We have to put our lives and health first.
Therefore ITF Board and Organizing committee of the World Cup Koper 2020 have decided, that there is no other possibility than postpone the event. The alternative date for the ITF World Cup to be organized in Koper (Slovenia) in October 2022.
We are aware that this will require many changes, bring up additional challenges and cause a certain level of inconvenience, but it is just impossible to ignore the global pandemic situation. If we make these decisions now, we will avoid even bigger (potential) damage.
Last but not least, I would like to let you know, that the entire organizing team was working hard in the past months, even years for this event. We have done everything to make it possible. Therefore it is hard to accept the reality.
We are disappointed with the situation, but at the same time we are motivated to make it happen in 2022. It will be our pleasure to host you in Koper, Slovenia.
