IIC 158 was held from July 28 to 30, 2022, in Radisson Victoria Plaza Hotel, Montevideo, Uruguay. It was conducted by the chairman of the ITF Technical Committee, Grand Master Hector Marano, together with Grand Master Ung Kim Lan. In addition, Master Leonardo Oros Duek, ITF Treasurer and chairman of the ITF Inclusion Committee, was present to hold an ITF Adapted Course.
On Thursday afternoon, the president of the national association in Uruguay, Sbn Victor Hugo Benitez, welcomed all participants and Master Oros Duek officially opened the event. The IIC started with GM Marano teaching the first part of the course focusing in color belt patterns. After that, GM Lan developed three, two, and one step sparring techniques.
The Friday continued with I. to VI. degree patterns with GM Marano, while GM Lan taught with another group self defense techniques.
Later, Master Oros Duek continued with the Adapted Course. At the beginning, he gives each participant, a study book. All worked on two conditions: hyperactivity and hypoactivity, giving instructors the tools to carry on a class forward through playful activities.
At night the official Dinner was made, where the attendants spend a nice evening with the Grand Masters, exchanging Southamerican Taekwon-Do anecdotes in a friendly atmosphere. Sbn Victor Hugo Benitez thanked in his speech the Grand Masters and Masters, as well as all participants for supporting Uruguay with their presence on the event. Sbn Gabriel Colina, Secretary of ITF Uruguay, who had a recent health issue, shared his words with gratitude.
Saturday morning, after shooting the main picture (see above), two groups were split. One group focussed again on pattern while in another group, Master Marcelo Bordiez, Coach of the Argentinian national team, showed various sparring strategies.
Past mid day, the course was closed and all participants had the chance of taking pictures with the Grand Masters, participating schools, and friends. It demonstrated symbolically the good climate the course has generated.
