On the eve of the ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships 2025, the atmosphere in Poreč, Croatia was already full of energy, collaboration, and anticipation. One day before the first bouts begin, organizers, officials, and representatives from around the world spent the day aligning, preparing, and connecting — ensuring that every detail is ready for tomorrow’s start.
Coaches’ Meeting: Setting the Stage for Fair Play
The day began with the Coaches’ Meeting, an important session to brief coaches on the competition rules, logistics, and the specific layout of the Sports Hall Žatika. Due to high attendance and limited space, the meeting was relocated to a larger room at Hotel Albatros, ensuring all could participate comfortably.
This meeting was conducted jointly by the Tournament Committee, the Umpire Committee, and the IT Committee, reflecting the collaborative approach that defines ITF events. Together, they addressed key rule clarifications, procedural updates, and competition flow to guarantee a smooth and transparent championship experience for all.

Umpire Briefing: Precision and Consistency
Immediately following the coaches’ session, the Umpire Meeting gathered 90 umpires to review the latest rule amendments and discuss common challenges observed in recent competitions. Led by the Umpire Committee, the meeting reinforced ITF’s commitment to fairness, professionalism, and consistent application of the rules throughout the event.
At the same time, 12 IT umpires were busy at the Intersport Hall, conducting the official weigh-in of nearly 1,500 competitors — a crucial logistical step marking the official readiness of athletes for the coming four days of competition.

Women’s Meet & Greet: Connection and Empowerment
Later in the afternoon, the Women’s Meet & Greet also took place at Hotel Albatros, bringing together female leaders, coaches, umpires, and practitioners from across the ITF family. The event fostered a warm and inspiring environment for networking, discussion, and mutual encouragement — a reflection of ITF’s growing emphasis on leadership and inclusivity in all areas of Taekwon-Do.
ITF General Assembly 2025: A Record Turnout
The highlight of the day was the ITF General Assembly 2025, held in the same venue. Scheduled to begin at 17:00, the session experienced a short delay due to a record number of delegates and observers wishing to participate — a clear sign of strong engagement within the ITF community.
The congress officially began at 17:45 and opened with motions to amend the agenda. However, the required quorum for those motions was not met. The Assembly then proceeded with active discussions, continuing for nearly five more hours.
This year’s General Assembly once again demonstrated the diversity and dedication of ITF’s global membership, as representatives from around the world contributed to the organization’s ongoing development and governance.
With preparations complete and spirits high, Poreč is ready. Tomorrow, the world’s best Taekwon-Do athletes take the stage for four days of unforgettable competition.
