The ITF has released an official statement to its members in the form of a letter from the Secretary General, GM Tadeusz Loboda.
In the letter, the Secretary General informs ITF members about a series of aggressive and coordinated actions undertaken by another organization commonly known as NK-ITF, based in Vienna and supported by the North Korean regime. These actions have reportedly included harassment of ITF members, sponsors, clubs, and taekwon-do practitioners, as well as attempts to disrupt the legitimate activities and communication channels of multiple ITF-related organizations through unfair and abusive practices.
The statement also addresses ongoing violations of an Agreement Outside the Court signed in Vienna on 11 June 2014, under which both parties committed to cease all legal proceedings and refrain from defamatory or obstructive actions. While the ITF has fully respected this agreement, NK-ITF representatives have continued to act in contradiction to its terms.
The Secretary General reaffirms that the ITF, as a responsible organization and continuator of General Choi Hong Hi’s legacy, is fully prepared to defend its rights through legal, technical, and diplomatic means. Members are assured that the Federation is working closely with trademark lawyers to restore access to its communication channels and to protect the global ITF community.
Members are encouraged to read the full letter for detailed information and to contact the ITF should they have any questions or concerns. Further updates will be communicated as developments arise.
