TKDMeetUp 2025

Sep 5 Sep 7

I’m thrilled to invite you to the next edition of TKDMeetUp – a unique workshop experience for men practicing Taekwon-Do. Just like last time, we’ll gather in the exceptional setting of Dojo Stara Wieś – the European Budo Centre in Poland, from September 5th to 7th, 2025.

This one-of-a-kind place was designed specifically for martial arts – a space where you can reconnect with the essence of Taekwon-Do, return to its roots, and remember why you chose this path in the first place.

Here’s a short video from the previous edition:

TKDMeetUp 2025 – From The Place of Power will be open edition and will bring together men and women from across Europe who practice Taekwon-Do and want to strengthen both body and mind on a foundation of awareness, authenticity, and discipline. This gathering is more than just training – it’s an opportunity to reconnect with your deeper motivation, explore the mental and spiritual dimensions of martial arts, and grow alongside like-minded practitioners.

The program will include physical training sessions, mindset workshops, and mindfulness practices – all inspired by the holistic vision of General Choi Hong Hi, the founder of Taekwon-Do, who emphasized the integration of body, mind, and spirit.

This event will feature respected guests from the world of martial arts, each sharing powerful, practical tools for personal development. As leaders in your communities, this kind of inner work is often the first and most essential step toward creating a lasting, positive impact – in your dojang, at home, and in life.

The lineup of speakers is still growing, but I’m excited to confirm several names already familiar and respected in our community:

1. Prof. Janusz Szopa, PhD, DSc, dr h.c.– Head of the Department of Sport and Tourism Management at the University of Physical Education in Katowice.

A long-time academic lecturer and creator of university programs in the fields of yoga, relaxation techniques, stress management. He holds international teaching certificates in Iyengar and Sivananda yoga systems.

He is also the head of the postgraduate program “Relaxation and Yoga” at the University of Physical Education in Warsaw.

Co-founder of several organizations promoting yoga, including the Academic Yoga Association and the Polish Iyengar Yoga Association.

2. Sabum Roy Rolstad (VI DAN Taekwon-Do, VI Dan Hapkido) from Norway is a Taekwon-Do instructor of  NTN (National Team Norway). In Norway, Taekwon-Do ITF is the most practiced sport. He is the co-creator of the ITF Radix system, which provides a new perspective on formal patterns (using movements that we all know for real combat and self-defense).

During the last meeting, he inspired us all with his workshop “Chon-Ji – a complete fighting system.” Participants were impressed by the alternative applications of movements used in patterns. During next edition we will continue the adventure with ITF Radix to learn more and inspire our students more strongly to practice patterns.

3. Sabum Sławomir Listkiewicz VI Dan is a movement enthusiast and a Taekwon-Do coach with a VI DAN degree. During TKDMeetUp, he will conduct Movement sessions, which he has been practicing for 6 years. “Movement is the foundation of human existence, movement is life. Movement unleashes energy for action. For the human body to function well, movement should be diverse, taking place in a variable environment, using different objects, individually and in interaction with other people. Movement is freedom in physical, emotional, and spiritual terms.

In our sessions, we will focus on key areas of our movement system: the spine, shoulder girdle, and hip girdle. The goal will be to activate, make more flexible, improve awareness, and increase control within these areas. We will perform individual, pair, and group tasks.

4. Sabum Łukasz Grygiel V Dan – the event organizer, president of the Extremis Foundation, dedicated to complementary development in the areas of the mind, body, and mindfulness. With 25 years in Taekwon-Do, he is the author of the Black Belt project. Over the years, he has acquired knowledge in transpersonal coaching, meditation, mindfulness and hypno, Wim Hof’s breathing methods, and hypnotherapy. The methods he has learned aim to enable lasting positive change in significant areas of life.

He will lead two in-depth workshops designed to support inner strength and personal transformation. In the first, participants will learn the basics of autohypnosis – including how to enter a deep state of relaxation and anchor it, so it can be recalled in moments of stress, before sleep, or after intense training. The second workshop, “Everyday Energy”, will explore how to manage and restore energy in daily life. Topics will include sleep, dopamine, breathwork, nutrition, and the mental patterns that drain or support vitality – all backed by modern science and practical experience.

5. Sabum Artur Osuchowski, VI DAN is one of the most dedicated and passionate ITF Taekwon-Do instructors in Poland. A former member of the national team and a two-time European Cup champion in the middleweight division. He is the president of KS Wojownik – one of the largest Taekwon-Do clubs in the country.

He is the author of two books: Strong and Fit at Home and The Power of Discipline, in which he shares his approach to physical training and building inner resilience. As a coach, he has trained European champions and World Cup medalists.

If you want to learn more about how the mind works, how to manage it better, spend time with friends and martial arts enthusiasts in discussions and training in an amazing place – I invite you to this unique event.
