A behind the scenes guide through another day at the World Cup
As usual, the ITF Committees started the new day with a review of the previous day.
The IT and Tournament Committees prepared the hall and every ring for the tasks of the upcoming day while the Communications Committee planed the media activities for the day.
The Umpires started with an Umpire meeting shared their experience of the previous day. The Concussion Officer reported the medical results of the concussed competitors: everyone is out of hospital and fine. Yet, the ITF Concussion Policy prohibits those competitors from competing for the rest of the World Cup to protect themselves.
About one hour later, the competitors began to warm up the Bonifika Arena of Koper and the matches started.
Throughout the day, high-intensity matches kept the more than 1,000 spectators on their feet cheering for their team.
Among the highlights of the day were the Advanced Senior (36-45 years) and Veteran (46+ years) categories of pattern in 4. – 6. Degree. The competitors of this category are typically not seen at World Championships due to the large competition.
As a main guest today, we had the special presence of the Honorable Grand Master Tom MacCallum, a true living legend of Taekwon-Do and one of General Choi’s closest collaborators for 40 years.
The excellent timing of the organization managed to perfectly meet the planned schedule, which has been highly valued by both, the umpires and the competitors.
As always, all the results and the complete competition agenda can be found at sportdata.com.
