On Sunday, March 17, a training day organized by the Argentine Women’s Committee was held at the Racing Club facilities in Villa del Parque, Buenos Aires – Argentina, where more than 360 women participated from 3 to 83 years old and white belt up to 9th dan
Without a doubt the largest event in the world organized by and for women.
On this occasion, the international Harmony Committee attended the event to give its support with the presence of the Committee’s chairman Sabum Nim Gastón Casero and several students who practice Taekwon-Do Harmony (Taekwon-Do adapted for older people) who performed several of the activities proposed by the speakers during the 3 hours that the event lasted.
The day featured special classes from great competitors, world champions and references from Argentina such as the Grand Master Azucena Zorzón, Patricia Garelik, Soledad Serrano and Ana María Coronel who demonstrated their qualities as competitors and instructors of this martial art.
The classes covered several items such as warming up, movement exercises, self-defense, cooperation games and physical preparation, ending with a talk by GM Azucena who told her origins in Taekwon-Do and the circumstances she had to be one of the first female practitioners in an activity that until then was clearly masculine. At the end of the story, a very nice moment was generated where the youngest participants consulted GM Zorzón about the old times.
Ending the day with raffles that the different Sponsors who donated for the participants.
Without a doubt, an event where each of the participants was able to take away several positive experiences where the atmosphere of camaraderie was seen in the faces shown with a huge smile.
