Once again the ITF has taken a memorable step in training its instructors.
On May 27, 28 and 29, 2022, in the city of Pilar, province of Buenos Aires, the 153rd IIC was held.
An unrepeatable event for multiple reasons.
In the first place, for having had the presence of all the members of the technical committee led by GM Héctor Marano.
Additionally, we were also able to share the teachings of the ITF President, GM Paul Weiler, who in addition to having personal interviews with the main leaders of South America, also met with the Masters and Grandmasters present.
Secondly, for having been the first IIC carried out together with the introductory courses of Kids, Adapted and Harmony.
These conferences were given by Master Fabián Izquierdo, co-creator of the kids program, Master Leo Oros Duek, chairman of the ITF Inclusion Committee and Treasurer, and by Sabum Nim Gastón Casero, chairman and co-creator of the Harmony program.
And finally for having been the second largest face-to-face IIC in history with more than 800 participants from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Peru.
The impeccable development of all the activity denoted a previous work of many months.
Both from the accreditation to the distribution of the work groups in various rooms including translators and video equipment in each room.
For this, the leadership of Marcelo Bordiez and Leandro Espósito was fundamental, leading a great work team.
After the classic entry, the ITF president gave a few words of welcome and immediately GM Marano handed out the 9th dan diplomas to Grand Master Azucena Zorzón, the first Argentine woman to obtain this degree, and to Grand Master Gustavo Merodio.
After the accreditation, and with everyone present in the main hall, a heartfelt tribute was paid to GM Pablo Trajtenberg, who has undoubtedly left his mark through his two presidencies.
To start the activities, the groups were divided by categories of degree (3-4, 5-6, 7-9) and in each room the work team carried out a review of all the forms, combat techniques, predetermined fighting and self-defense.
On Saturday night, the honor dinner was held with more than 100 participants, giving this gala an impressive setting.
A tango show gave an unforgettable note of color to all the participants and especially to the guests of honor.
The 3 days were undoubtedly very active and dynamic, receiving each course through the main references of each specialty.
On Sunday at the closing ceremony, a medal was presented to the coaching staff of the Argentine national team led by Master Marcelo Bordiez and Sabum Nim Ariel Alemanno for their excellent performance in the ITF Online World Cup.
After the words of the president for the official closing, the corresponding diplomas and the traditional photo session were delivered.
Undoubtedly, emotion was the protagonist throughout the course since for many it was the first reunion after two years of the pandemic.
Countless photos and memories will help write the story of a memorable IIC.
