On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July, the first triple online course in the history of the ITF took place.
This course is a long-awaited project for its 3 main speakers: Master Fabián Izquierdo for the TKD Kids program, Sabum Nim Gastón Casero, chairman of the Harmony Committee, and Sabum Nim Leonardo Oros Duek, chairman of the Inclusion Committee and manager of this innovative initiative.
Inspired by the Kids and Harmony double course held in Guatemala in 2018, this triple course once again marks a milestone in the history of Taekwon-Do.
We are confirming that innovation in training is a top priority at our ITF.
There were two full days and with special guests.
On Saturday, GM Héctor Marano, Chairman of the Technical and Instruction Committee, made the official opening, who, with his permanent presence, supported each of the ITF education projects.
Among his central concepts, he highlighted the successful work of the exhibitors and their committees to fulfill General Choi’s will to achieve Taekwon-Do for all.
The first block of Adapted Taekwon-Do was led by BSB Anabel Vicario, a member of the Inclusion Committee, who made a general description of the work methodology on managing students with special conditions and the relationship with parents.
Next, the Sabum Nim Gastón Casero presented the general characteristics of the Harmony Program, its fundamentals, and its objectives.
He was accompanied by BSB Mayevi Galindo, a member of the Harmony Committee, expanding the concepts about the virtues of the Program at a psychological level in seniors adults.
The third part was led by Master Fabián Izquierdo, who illustrated the benefits of the well-known TKD Kids, but with innovative tools arising from Neurosciences, thus confirming the level of evolution of this Program developed by the Committee directed by GM Donato Nardizzi.
At the close of the first day, the Sabum Nim Oros Duek completed the objectives and scope of the Inclusion Committee, confirming the scope of a teaching program that seeks to bring Taekwon-Do closer to everyone.
On the second day, the ITF General Secretary, Master Tadeusz Loboda, attended the official opening and congratulated the exhibitors for the initiative of such a transcendent event.
Again, the first segment was led by BSB Anabel Vicario, who surprised all the participants with the live presence of 3 of her students, who carried out different activities individually and in groups.
The quality of what was exhibited by his students provoked a generalized emotion but was the overwhelming confirmation of the effectiveness of the Adapted TKD Program.
SBN Gastón Casero continued with the development of the Harmony Program, this time with another member of his Committee, SBN Eduardo Quinteros, who described the general conditions to be considered in terms of the health of those included in this Program.
Closing the block corresponding to the Harmony Program, the event had the special participation of the SBN Soledad Serrano, multiple world champion and member of the ITF Hall of Fame, who shared some keys with us about the importance of meditation and self-knowledge to achieve specific objectives.
Next, Master Izquierdo expanded the perspectives of TKD Kids from a neurocognitive perspective, demonstrating how neurosciences can be a fundamental ally in the teaching of children.
Again, in the closing, he presented the Sabum Nim Oros Duek, completing the idea of the scope of the Adapted TKD Program, not only from the social point of view but also as a complementary tool for the professional development of all Taekwon-Do instructors.
The experience of this triple course leaves us with several learnings: one of them, without a doubt, is the number of links that unite the three programs, from the didactic, the physiological, and the cognitive.
They are confirming the transversality of Taekwon-Do in the different levels of society and ensuring the desire of General Choi’s legacy: that Taekwon-Do helps humanity improve their quality of life.
