From May 24th to 26th, 2024, 800 black belts converged on the Hilton Pilar in Buenos Aires for the 175th International Instructors Course (IIC), taught by the entire ITF Technical Committee.
The majority of the participants were from Argentina, with visitors also coming from Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay.
The IIC began with a special announcement of recognition to three new Grand Masters present in the course: Grand Master Fausto Mercado, Grand Master Herman Sáez, both from Argentina and, finally, Grand Master Jerzy Jedut, member of the same Technical Committee .
On the occasion it was announced that their certificates will be delivered at the World Cup in Mar del Plata, at the end of this year.
Given the large number of participants, they were divided into three different venues. One venue was dedicated solely to the 110 Masters and Grand Masters. The other two venues were equipped with massive screens and camera operators to ensure that everyone could follow the tuition provided by the committee members.
The committee had also conducted their two-day annual workshop, where they discussed all techniques in depth, including all 24 patterns. These meetings are essential to ensure the consistency of the techniques taught around the world. The team enjoys coming together and learning from each other each year, led by Chairman Grand Master Marano.
For the closing, Master Leonardo Oros Duek, Treasurer of the ITF, was invited to speak, who basically referred to the success of this event, the 175th IIC, and after conveying the greetings sent by the President of the ITF, GM Paul Weiler thanked the organizer, GM Héctor Marano, each of the members of the Technical Committee and of course, the participants.
For its part, the ITF Instruction and Technical Committee expressed particular gratitude to all those present for their participation in the IIC and their support.
