Happy Birthday Taekwon-Do!!!
Taekwon-Do was introduced to the public on April 11, 1955 – 68 years ago today – and since then has triumphed on all continents over the decades. Originally started as a martial art, Taekwon-Do is much more. It is also a sport, a way of life, and a tool to developing our society in terms of peaceful and international understanding. Moreover, its scientifically proven health aspects for body and mind are well known .
The litte Giant – that is how the father of Taekwon-Do, General Choi, Hong-Hi, is called – and rightly so. Small in stature, he was a brilliant strategist, developer and visionary. His almost inexhaustible energy, willpower and courage have led to Taekwon-Do being an art that is second to none worldwide today.
Thank you General Choi for your legacy, which we wish to cherish and pass on as your everlasting students.
Your forever student!
