In the run-up to such an important event, the numbers speak for themselves of success, at least as far as the number of attendees is concerned.
1,058 competitors, 41 teams, 234 coaches, and 80 umpires confirmed contributing to the next Central and South American Championship starting on June 24.
The Central and South American Confederation (FCST) is the supervisor of this ITF Taekwon-Do event and brings together National Associations from sixteen countries from Mexico to Argentina, which gives an idea of the great geographical dimension it covers.
Culturally related, however, this region presents a rich ethnic diversity and maintains enormous differences in several other aspects, such as social and economic, which added to the work of the organizers, the President of the Paraguayan National Association Sbn Fernando Arrúa and the Masters Walter Peña and Ramón Rojas.
The Federación de Taekwon-Do Estilo ITF de la República del Paraguay (Fetrep), through the organizing committee, has worked tirelessly so that this championship meets all expectations.
It should be noted that the organization has had the support of the National Sports Secretariat of Paraguay.
The event will be at the facilities of the impressive SND Arena, a multi-sports stadium located in the Hipódromo neighborhood of the capital, Asunción, remodeled in 2018 and which has an area of 5,700 squaremeters and a capacity to accommodate 7,500 spectators.
Important sporting events were held there, such as the World Figure Skating Championships in 2021, the Copa América de Futsal 2022, the 2022 South American Games organized by the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, the World Padel Tour Paraguay Open 2023 and recently basketball for the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifier.
Black and colored belts, pre-juniors, juniors, adults, seniors, and veterans divided into 10 categories, either individually or as a team, will give life to this championship between June 24 and 30, in the different ITF types of competition.
As a relevant fact that deserves to be highlighted, during the IX Central and South American Taekwon-Do Championship in Paraguay, an official Adapted Taekwon-Do competition will be held for the first time in the history of these events, which opens the doors to inclusion in this sporting facet, for people with various special conditions.
