Since the ITF elections in April 2019 Inzell, the ITF Board have been working diligently, creating a strategic plan, new committees, policies, procedures and budgets to ensure the processes in the ITF are professional, meeting the standards of good governance and transparency expected from an international sport federation and bringing the ITF firmly into the 21st century to give us every opportunity to be fully recognised by the worlds’ most important sporting organisations.
Many issues have arisen over the last 2 years, a significant number of these issues revealed problems and irregularities in both national and international levels of ITF activities that called for immediate attention as they created severe concerns that had to be dealt with. Therefore, the ITF Board would like to thank those countries who continue to assist the ITF in bringing up to date data, applications and payments that have been omitted over the last few years. As we continue to work in a positive way our members will notice the value of their membership to the ITF as we build a stronger Federation to be at the forefront as other World Martial Art and Sporting governing bodies.
Following the implementation of these sustainable, very important and essential changes in the governance of our federation, unfortunately, a few – very few – of the past leading personalities in the ITF have decided to leave the federation for their own personal reasons. The ITF Board of Directors would of course prefer that these personalities stay with us and continue to contribute to the growth and strengthening of the ITF, however they have made their choice and the ITF can thus only thank them for their contribution in the past and wish them all the best.
We appreciate the support our members continue to give for the hard work that ITF President GM Weiler and the Board have started and the cooperation in realising a fully open and transparent ITF whilst continuing the legacy of our founder General Choi Hong Hi to promote ITF Taekwon-Do globally.
The ITF Board want to reassure the ITF that as our membership grows and follows this new professional direction, our Federation will continue to expand stronger, become more efficient as our events get even larger on the global stage with the highly skilled members we have and give more opportunity than there has ever been in the past to become fully recognised at the highest level.
The role and duty of the Board of Directors is to govern the ITF and its member organisations for the benefit of all members. The ITF Board supports ITF Grand Masters with efficient strategy and administration, so Grand Masters can lead the teaching, instruction and philosophy of our Martial Art according to the legacy of our founder, General Choi Hong-Hi.
We would like to encourage you to contact our Secretary General Master Loboda if you have any queries regarding the ITF, the transparent direction of the ITF and the Strategic Plan to continue the expansion of the ITF.
