TAEKWON-DO Life journey 1967 under GM Nam Tae Hi and GM Low Koon Lin. Began my instructor journey 1970 when became Asst Instructor to GM LOW at his International Tkd Academy. 1978 participated at World Tkd Chmps at Oklahoma city USA after which went to Toronto Canada for a few months. It was then General Choi invited me to train at this house at Mississauga together with Mr Cyril Anthony of Sri Lanka. Both of us would train at General Choi’s own basement gym and after which Mrs. Choi would invite us up for lunch before we left, but Cyril was asked to stay back to ‘make’ the ink for General Choi Chinese calligraphy writings.
Before I left Toronto I was given my 4th dan ITF certificate by General Choi. But from the beginning, I was strictly training and later assisting GM LOW at his Academy and all dealings with the ITF was through him. Whenever General Choi visited Malaysia then I would stay with him in the same hotel room to guard him against the people who constantly wanted to meet and bother him!
The Malaysian National Taekwon-Do body left the ITF in 1994 after the Malaysia World Championship at Terengganu due to some misunderstanding between GM Sabree Salleh and ITF. In 2016 we returned to ITF HQ, Spain under the leadership of Dato Shahnaz Azmi and it was there in Budapest Hungary World Championship that I was officially awarded the GRANDMASTER title by ITF HQ, Spain.
