On Sunday 9th May the ITF Medical and Anti-Doping Committee met to discuss the newly approved Concussion Policy.
ITF President Grandmaster Weiler addressed the meeting at the beginning mentioning the importance of this new policy and it’s integration into our major Championships to protect the safety of our athletes. Board member Master Philip Lear and Trauma specialist/Paramedic Mr Kirk Lee presented elements of the policy to the committee where they discussed the implementation of the new policy in all major ITF Championships.
Sabum Sabina Mason and her committee members came up with lots of new ideas to enhance the policy further and to raise awareness throughout the ITF.
The meeting was extremely positive and enabled the committee to create a plan for the next steps. A follow up meeting is now planned for 20th June with all the relevant committees.
