On July 18th, a crowded international “Taekwon-Do Adapted” meeting took place. It was organized by Asociación Taekwon-Do República Argentina (ATRA) whose president, Master Marcelo Vatrano, was the host. Florencia Manifesto, member of the Business & Management Committee, was in charge of the coordination.
Many ITF authorities took part of the meeting: GM Paul Weiler and Master Tadeusz Loboda, President and General Secretary of the ITF; GM Hector Marano, chairman of the Technical and Instruction Committee and Fabián Izquierdo and Gustavo Livon, authorities from the Kids and Communication Committees.
During the two-hour meeting, Sabum Nim Leo Oros Duek and Sabum Nim Anabel Vicario captivated the entire audience, who showed great interest in learning.
Referents from Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Spain, Guatemala, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela participated. Other social networks were available since the virtual zoom room was full.
GM Paul Weiler shared his support for the new Taekwon-Do Adapted as an extension of General Choi Hong Hi´s inclusion legacy, defining the event as a step forward on this path. GM Marano emphasized the importance of continuous learning and showed his excitement towards the available tools for instructors to develop. Furthermore, Master Loboda reaffirmed the ITF’s support for the entire community and thanked the large audience.
To conclude, the event lays a solid foundation for expanding Taekwon-Do into a more inclusive world. The great work done by the Inclusion Committee, in charge of Leo Oros Duek, Anabel Vicario and John Mcllvaney continues its expansion.
