On Thursday, March 11, 2021, a new meeting of the ITF Executive Committee with leaders from Central and South America was held by Zoom.
Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, El Salvador, Uruguay, and Venezuela were present.
Along with masters and instructors from all the countries above, GM Jorge Condomí, Adrián Desiderio, and Guillermo Villegas participated.
The meeting was leading by the ITF President, GM Paul Weiler, with the General Secretary Master Tadeusz Loboda and the Treasurer Sabum Nim Leonardo Oros Duek, responsible for the ITF for the Region.
Master Abelardo Benzaquén, President of the Central and South American Federation, also served as the local host and collaborated in the translation in English and Spanish.
GM Weiler began by emphasizing the importance of understanding the value that “each of us is part of and IS the ITF” and the commitment that this means.
Administrative issues were also clarified, indicating that the only values charged by the ITF are for degree certificates and that they are those published in the statutes.
Any other value charged to examinees does not correspond to the ITF but the responsible organizations in each country.
Master Loboda provided information on the status of the ITF with GAIF at the international level. That internally, a new database (ITFONLINE) is being completed to facilitate the Associations’ work and make the administration more transparent at the global level.
Treasurer Leonardo Oros Duek conveyed his satisfaction with the Region’s development, incorporating 2 new National Associations, Guatemala and Chile, the confirmation of Uruguay, and the incorporation of two new countries, Ecuador Venezuela.
He also reported on his upcoming trip to Argentina to train on the new ITFONLINE, and he invited those who can travel to join this training.
There was also an opportunity to exchange some questions which the members of the Executive Committee answered.
The closing was in charge of GM Weiler, who conveyed his good wishes to everyone and left the door open to continue answering all our members’ concerns.
