The ITF Children’s Development Committee is pleased to announce an important step in our commitment to creating a safe environment for all the children we serve: we are introducing the new ITF Child Safeguarding Policy. A comprehensive document aimed at safeguarding all children involved within the scope of the ITF. We strongly believe that protecting children is not just a responsibility, but a moral obligation, and we strive to maintain the highest standards of child safeguarding in all our activities.
The ITF places a high value on promoting an atmosphere where kids can feel safe, cared for, and empowered. We can accomplish this by placing a high priority on children’s rights and we have used ‘The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)’ to serve as the foundation for this.
The procedures in this policy have been partly copied and adapted from the ITF Adult Harassment Policy to keep the disciplinary procedures as consistent as possible. Our committee thanks the Women’s Committee and all the collaborators who worked on the ITF Adult Harassment Policy.
Writing the Child Safeguarding Policy is just the beginning. We will soon launch a campaign to raise awareness, promote understanding and encourage active participation in safeguarding efforts.
We will continue to review and improve our policies and procedures to provide the highest level of protection for children.
Let’s work together to create a safe and secure environment where all children can grow up healthy.
