On page 741 of the Condensed Version of the Encyclopaedia, four instructors are named as demonstrators of a demonstration programme:
Han Cha Kyo, Kim Jun-Kun, Kwon Jae-Hwa and Park Jong-Soo. Together with General Choi Hong-Hi, this team toured Africa, the Middle East and also Germany in 1965, giving demonstrations in Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich.
During the ITF World Championships 2013 in Spain, where Grandmaster Park Jong-Soo was a guest, I had the opportunity to have a longer conversation with him and of course we came to talk about the performance in Munich at the Circus Krone. Park Jong-Soo had been looking for a television recording of this demonstration since 1965 and asked me if I could help him in this regard. Since 48 years had already passed by then, I didn’t have much hope, but I tried everything and luckily I actually found what I was looking for. I emailed him the video and he was delighted and grateful. I have attached the video to you and it shows, among other things, GM Park in a knife fight with GM Kwon, his fist-breaking test on a pile of roof tiles and some free-fighting techniques.
GM Park was absolutely exceptional and I remember General Choi saying about him that he was the best student he ever had.
May this video help to honour and remember GM Park.
With respect.

Thank you for posting this. I was blessed, honored and humbled to be accepted by Grand Master Park as his student. We traveled together and spent much time together training and having fun. He was more than my instructor and mentor. He was my friend and I miss him deeply. I am in the process of installing the Jong Park Legacy Museum in my Dojang. And the General was correct. He was the best… And probably always will be. Thank you again.

I didn’t know master Park had passed away. I trained at his Rexdale Dojang from 1985-1989. My instructors were Robert Summers, Mike Martin, Antonio Guererro, and Jason Beaudoin. This was my introduction to martial arts and I will always treasure my time with his organization. RIP Sabumnim.

I trained at Jong Park Taekwon-Do at the Scarborough location (1998-2000) and had the privilege of meeting him and on occasion Mr. Park would teach us. I really learned a lot from him and Master Kassim a gentleman from Afghanistan ( amazing instructor ). Sad to see he had passed, on my son’s birthday. 🙁
