Time waits for no man, this famous quote often used by the founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi, reflects well on the meeting that took place recently between leaders of ITF Taekwon-Do Federations.
On the 3rd of January 2024, almost exactly four years since the last visit, a meeting between Grand Master Paul Weiler, President of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (registered in Switzerland), and Master Oh Chang Jin, President of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (HQ Korea) took place in Sejong city, South Korea. Also present at the meeting were Master Leonardo Oros Duek (Treasurer of ITF) and Dr Zibby Kruk (Secretary General of ITF HQ Korea).
The meeting aimed to reestablish the previous relationship between the organizations that signed a collaboration agreement four years ago which was never executed due to the outbreak of the COVID pandemic.
At the meeting, the parties discussed again a future collaboration between the two organizations concerning cooperation in the organization of events, programs, and further education of younger generations about Taekwon-Do founder, history, and “Do”. Additionally, the expansion of ITF in Korea involving both Federations was also discussed. Both delegations agreed that this collaboration would benefit the entire ITF community.
Lunch in a traditional Korean restaurant and a visit to Yeongpyeongsa Temple which is believed to have a special spiritual energy associated with the successful leadership of over 10 generals who were born in that small area over the history of Korea concluded the meeting.

Please keep up this development. A great step forward. ITF needs to deepen its roots with the homeland of Taekwon-Do.
