Communication from GM Weiler

Dear Grand Masters, Masters, Instructors and ITF members,

Greeting from Germany!

I hope this message finds you and your families in good health.

After serving as Senior Vice President of the ITF Board of Directors for two terms, it is my intention to run as a candidate for the position of President of our ITF. The members of the Board of Directors and many country representatives have encouraged me to submit my candidature. I would like to add that I am honored and grateful for their trust in me and I am happy and looking forward to the challenge to serve the ITF and their members countries.

As you may know I have been working for more than 10 years on the development of our ITF in the African Continent. (now 16 member countries with almost 30.000 members). Since this time after 9 years we have established the Africa Development Team which supported me a lot and shall continue my work in the continent and further develop of the ITF.

For the last 6 years I have been working to help develop Asia. It is my sincere wish to continue helping to establish an Asian Development Team to continue this work. Taekwon-Do was founded by General Choi Hong Hi in Korea, we should remember the importance of Asia.

Another Continent that we will support and develop is Central and South America. There are many members with love and passion for Taekwon-Do such as Argentina which I will continue to work closely with. As a major member Argentina has the largest ITF membership in our organization, together we can develop a strong team to assist and develop countries that need our assistance.

My goal is to follow the Legacy of our Founder General Choi Hong Hi who appointed me as one of the seven members of the Consultative Council in July 2001. It was General Choi’s wish that I be involved in the development of ITF in a future leadership position. This of course was and still is a privilege and motivation for me to follow.

It is very clear for me that we can only achieve success as a working team which includes the ITF Board of Directors and the committees as there will be many new challenges and innovations in the future. I am looking forward to bring strong harmony between the Board Members and the ITF countries.

Let us work together for the best interests of the ITF for its members and the Legacy of our Founder.
