During April 2024 the Allied National Taekwon-Do Association Australia Inc (ANTAA) National Pattern Marathon was held across Sydney, Perth, and Melbourne; to celebrate the Taekwon-Do’s 69th anniversary and ANTAA’s 20th year of enriching Australia with the gift of the prestigious art of Taekwon-Do.
Three admirable clubs completed the marathon: Platinum Taekwon-Do (Perth), Impact Taekwon-Do (Melbourne) and Jun Tong International Taekwon-Do (Sydney). They executed an impressive total of 8,043 patterns completed by 208 Taekwon-Do practitioners ranging from beginner level to advanced. $2,662.70 Australian dollars were raised to go towards several renowned charities contributing to building a more peaceful world. They were the Cancer Council Western Australia, Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation and Multiple Sclerosis Australia.
Participants were to complete patterns either as individual or as team pattens. The patterns were done in one-hour sessions in usual class times hosted at several different locations.
ANTAA is delighted to invite the wider world to participate in next year’s pattern marathon, it is simple and easy to partake all you must do is find a time and place to complete your patterns! This event is for everyone and everybody from the children to our more elderly participants, no matter your capability or age.
