This Saturday, December 18th, 2021, at 18:00 UTC, the 29th Congress of the International Taekwon-Do Federation was held.
This event, which takes place every year, is intended to give an account of what has been done in the last year, to inform about news, projects, and plans in the short and medium term.
The activity, led by ITF GM President Paul Weiler, had the direct support of the Secretary-General, Master Tadeusz Loboda, and the Treasurer, Master Leonardo Oros Duek.
Likewise, the board members were present, and most of the chairpersons of the 17 committees that make up the ITF.
The presidents of all National and Allied Associations were invited, and a total of 120 leaders from more than 80 countries participated.
The participants previously received the conference book with all the information discussed during the day today and the reports of everything done by each of the committees.
GM Weiler began with a few words about the successes achieved during the year and mentioned that this is the second congress in the history of the ITF to be held virtually.
Executive Board carried out the full agenda proposed in its entirety promptly.
The new National Associations and status changes of different organizations were approved.
Treasurer Master Oros Duek presented a concise but consistent summary of financial achievements based on tracking and updating instructor plates and titles.
This personalized follow-up has had several positive results aside from the financial one.
On the one hand, hundreds of instructors have finally received their pending diplomas.
And on the other hand, it has allowed the ITF to have more real numbers on the number of active instructors on the five continents.
World Cup in Koper 2022, World Championship in Finland 2023, and the World Cup in Ireland 2024 were also confirmed.
The call for the world tournaments of 2025 / 2026 was opened, and Hungary and Argentina indicated their interest in these upcoming events.
Despite the extensive agenda, everything normally flowed, including the votes on each point discussed.
All this was possible thanks to the intense work carried out by the team of the general secretariat led by Master Loboda accompanied by Malgorzata Rogaczewska, Isabela Ostrowska, and Renata Gołaszewska.
In closing, GM Weiler thanked everyone for their presence, mentioned his satisfaction with the great work done during 2021, and of course, expressed his desire that this is the last congress held virtually.
After two hours of activity, the congress was concluded, and we were able to take a few minutes to share greetings, memories, and good wishes for next year.
On behalf of all of us who work for the ITF, we want to take the opportunity to thank you for being part of this great Taekwon-Do family and send our sincere wishes of health and well-being to each of you and your families.
Happy Holidays and a great 2022!
