El 11 de abril de 2025, la Federación Internacional de Taekwon-Do celebró un hito histórico: el 70.° aniversario de la fundación del Taekwon-Do por el general Choi Hong Hi, con una celebración mundial en línea de 24 horas que unió a la comunidad mundial del Taekwon-Do como nunca antes.
El evento contó con más de 1100 participantes registrados de todos los continentes, zonas horarias y generaciones. Grandes Maestros, Maestros, Instructores, practicantes y entusiastas se unieron para celebrar el legado, los valores y el futuro del Taekwon-Do.
El programa, que se desarrolló ininterrumpidamente durante 24 horas, incluyó presentaciones en vivo, reflexiones históricas, perspectivas técnicas y clases prácticas, impartidas por un impresionante grupo de ponentes que representan a la familia global del Taekwon-Do. Cada hora del evento estuvo enmarcada por la presentación de una de las 24 formas del Taekwon-Do, conectando simbólicamente el paso del tiempo con la profundidad y el significado de nuestro arte.
El evento se realizó en vivo por Zoom. El presidente de la ITF, GM Paul Weiler, inauguró el evento con una cálida bienvenida. Veinticuatro horas después, el presidente de la ITF lo clausuró. Dada la larga celebración y la presencia de ponentes y temas de talla mundial, la ITF decidió grabar con antelación todas las presentaciones y subirlas posteriormente a su canal oficial de YouTube. De esta forma, el contenido permanece accesible para todos los miembros de la comunidad del Taekwon-Do.
Desde la primera presentación hasta las palabras de clausura, el ambiente se llenó de camaradería, respeto e inspiración compartida. El evento no solo honró la rica historia del Taekwon-Do ITF, sino que también miró con valentía hacia el futuro, fomentando un diálogo global sobre la enseñanza, la innovación y la unidad.

Dear Taekwon-Do Members,
The event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the public presentation of Taekwon-Do by its founder, General Choi Hong-Hi, is now part of history—and although I am usually cautious with superlatives, this 24-hour event can truly be described as historic.
Never before has there been such an event in Taekwon-Do, featuring practical demonstrations, theoretical explanations, and discussions that encompassed all facets of this Korean martial art. National associations, groups, and individuals from all over the world took part. It clearly showed that there are virtually no limits to what can be achieved.
However, there were particular challenges, including time zone differences between continents and technical hurdles (like using the Zoom platform and video recordings). These were overcome thanks to the tremendous dedication of individuals and the organizing team.
Overall, everyone involved did an outstanding job, making it possible for us to speak of a truly historic event. Thanks go out to the following people — speakers, moderators, and athletes — who, by the way, volunteered all their contributions and efforts.
